Founded in 1972, Groupe Sterne has established itself as a key European player in multi-service transport and logistics with strong historical positions in customised and high value-added operations.<\/p>\n

By acquiring the German company Nox NachtExpress, which also specialises in night-time logistics, Groupe Sterne has doubled in size and reached a European dimension. The company employs 1,200 people, with a turnover of 270 million, while Nox NachtExpress has a turnover of 280 million euros with 1,000 employees.<\/p>\n

Like Sterne, Nox NachtExpress delivers equipment for industries including car manufacturers and equipment suppliers. The company also delivers agricultural machinery for farmers, medical tools, IT and telecoms equipment.<\/p>\n

The newly created group will comprise more than 80 warehouses in France, Germany, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands, offering a diversified range of services to over 6,000 shippers. The group will employ more than 2,200 people worldwide, giving it the capacity to serve more than 100,000 customers per day with 3,000 delivery trips<\/p>\n

The group will become one of the leading providers of critical overnight logistics services in Europe.<\/p>\n

This transaction is supported by Tikehau Capital, which became a majority shareholder in Groupe Sterne in October 2021, and by Meanings Capital Partners, a shareholder.<\/p>\n

Now backed by\u00a0 majority shareholder Tikehau Capital and other investors, Groupe Sterne may make further acquisitions in the coming months.<\/p>\n
