€61 million — Paris Labour Court rules in favour of Kylian Mbappé against Paris Saint-Germain

In the dispute involving several hundred million euros between Kylian Mbappé and Paris Saint-Germain following his departure in 2024, the Paris Labour Court ruled in favour of the player, ordering the club to pay him several tens of millions of euros.

Frédérique Cassereau, one of Kylian Mbappé’s legal counsel, together with Delphine Verheyden, Thomas Clay and Pierre-Olivier Sur, commented on the ruling during BFM TV’s 8 p.m. news broadcast:
“This judgment confirms that contractual undertakings must be complied with. It reaffirms a fundamental principle: even within the professional football industry, labour law remains fully applicable.”

The decision underscores the legally binding nature of contractual commitments, including in highly mediatised sectors.
