Hoche Avocats advises Derichebourg Group on the acquisition of Scholz Recycling GmbH
Hoche Avocats has advised Derichebourg on its acquisition of Scholz Recycling GmbH from Chiho Environmental Group.
Scholz Recycling Group is one of Europe’s leading metal recycling companies and generated revenues of €1.6 billion in 2025. The strategic acquisition will significantly strengthen Derichebourg’s European footprint and further enhance its position among the world’s leading ferrous and non-ferrous metal recycling companies.
Hoche Avocats led a multidisciplinary, multi-jurisdictional team advising on all legal aspects of the cross-border transaction, from structuring through to completion. The team worked closely with De Pardieu on competition and foreign investment matters, Noerr on German law matters and Baker & McKenzie on Hong Kong law matters.
The transaction reflects the continued consolidation of the recycling and secondary raw materials sector, against a backdrop of growing industrial sovereignty considerations and the transition towards a more sustainable economy.
With this landmark acquisition, Derichebourg continues to pursue its external growth strategy and takes a further step forward in expanding its international footprint.
